Subwoofers
Add low end to a portable PA. This category has powered subwoofers in 12-inch, 15-inch and 18-inch sizes, including Electro-Voice ELX200 and EKX models. A powered sub has its own amplifier, so you connect it to your mixer or main speakers and it handles the bass, which lets your tops stay cleaner and louder. Bigger subs move more air for dance floors and bands, while a 12-inch is easier to carry for solo and small-room work. Padded covers are listed separately under Speaker Covers. For tops and full systems, see Powered Speakers & Systems.
